I Am Responsible For What I See

Are you ready to enjoy another fifty-seven minutes with me? I want to express to you my gratitude, I’m speaking to all human beings on this little mud ball of nothing, contained within the idea that time could have lasted for more than a moment within your own dream of death. The problem I always have in what we term “advanced teachers” is the fundamental necessity for you to admit, and let’s say it together: I am responsible for what I see. I choose the results I want in my own mind, and everything that happens to me, within this concept, I want and get the result of.

The formulation of the possibility of conceptual mind in the basic acceptance of the inevitability that you are the cause of what you see out there, is the nature by which you advance in the idea that a whole alternative is available to you.

That’s why at the beginning of this second hour, we looked at your acceptance of the absolute inevitability that you forgive what appears to be objective associations out in the world, very simply because, though they appear to be attacking you, can you hear this with me? Say to me: “I’m attacking myself.” I saw you see it.

Now, let’s use the Old Man again; remember, a so-called Master Teacher who is seventy-six years old. As long as you can keep a figure of the distance between us, in the identity of ourself, you can insist that I’m going to participate in the illusion of the idea of separate body identities, and actually have an experience of someone else dying and me dying within that parameter. Somewhere within time, you are arriving at the conclusion that, since this is not what life is, by your own dedication, what appears to die was never real. So that the reading at the opening of this [video] says very simply that eternal life, not only has nothing to do with space/time, not only has nothing to do with the beginning or the end of time, but in reality has only to do with everything. Now, can you arrive at that conclusion of the everything that you are? Don’t you think you’re going to need a little help from me in the perspective that I can show you that every single decision that you make within your formulation of space/time is literally illusionary and not true? So that somewhere your addiction, we used to call it, to death, your need to defend yourself within a parameter of mind, you have finally decided within your own prospects of yourself that there must be another solution.

We’re back in the procedure of allowing me, as what apparently is constituted as an advanced teacher, to teach the necessity within the idea of a curriculum, are you listening? – for a continuing active re-association of what I think I am. This is why it’s called A Course In Miracles. This is why it’s a required course. I watched you this morning; somebody is teaching concepts about the Course In Miracles, as though the concepts about A Course In Miracles would have absolutely anything to do with what A Course In Miracles is. Obviously it’s a denial of the fundamental necessity to accept yourself as you truly are, because in the acceptance of yourself as you truly are, in what we are offering each other in moments of instant correspondence, is what we have searched for out in the universe and what we are sure to find.

You might want to look at me, in my certainty that space/time, as you have constructed yourself within your own mind conceptually, is nothing but an infinitesimally small moment of the idea of darkness, and that it’s impossible within your mind all around you is not the wholeness of the solution of what you must be, because it is all around you. And you live within that terror. Remember where we teach a moment of terror took the place of love? And so you’re preoccupied within your own mind in a formulation that would obviously not be who you are. Are you going to listen with me? In your idea of a reasoning process within your own mind, and now I’m going to teach for a few minutes, the idea that you actually don’t know who you are is ridiculous.

Yet in your conceptual idea of a reasoning process, the choices that you make in regard to what you think you are, come on now, humans, within your human condition of mind, cannot not give you the result of that mind. Because the reasoning process by which you attempt to identify yourself in this little place in space/time, is in a literal sense why you’re here, because every time you make a choice concerning what you think you are within your own mind, the necessity to choose again can show you either a better reflection of yourself within your idea of yourself, or lead you yet deeper down into the idea that you intend to defend yourself in the notation that you’re not whole and perfect as you were created.

There is a part in our Course In Miracles where I was going to read to you, this from the savior, Jesus, where each one of us, as a human factor of containment, must finally come to the idea that there’s another choice that can be made for him that is not contained within the reference he has given himself. It’s a very basic admission that the entirety of the concept of yourself, in a willful demonstration of separation, constituted by the power of your self-identity, will be yours as long as you want it to be true. Would it appear to anyone who looked at it within a true conception to be totally meaningless? Of course. It is totally meaningless. Not only that, you know it’s totally meaningless. So the joy that I experience conceptually is not in your examination of the Course In Miracles, but what? – in your examination of yourself, beginning with the certainty that you’re going to be responsible for what you see and are getting the results that you chose. Listen.

The Responsibility For Sight

We have repeated how little is asked of you to learn this course. It is the same small willingness you need to have your whole relationship with each other transformed to joy; the little gift you offer to the Holy Spirit for which He gives you everything; the very little on which salvation rests; the tiny change of mind by which the crucifixion is changed to resurrection. And being true, it is so simple that it cannot fail to be completely understood. You can reject it, but not ambiguously. And if you choose against it now it will not be because it is obscure, but rather that this little cost seemed, in your judgment, to be too much to for you to pay for peace.

I going to threaten you for a minute. Whatever you do, don’t be willing to be momentarily give up the concept of what you think you are within your own mind, because it will be the loss of the value of loneliness, separation, pain, loss and all the things in which you value yourself in ideas about, are you ready? – what you’re not. So the reading that we’re going to enter into now in the recognition of self-responsibility is what this is going to be about. You remember this: that decision out there as a human is being made by you. Listen.

This is the only thing that you need do for vision, happiness, release from pain and the complete escape from sin, all to be given you. Say only this, but mean it with no reservations, for here the power of salvation lies:

I am responsible for what I see.
I choose the feelings I experience,
and I decide upon the goal I would achieve.
And everything that seems to happen to me I ask for,
and receive as I have asked.

Deceive yourself no longer that you are helpless in the face of what is done to you. Acknowledge but that you have been mistaken, and all effects of your mistakes will disappear. It is impossible the Son of God be merely driven by events outside of him. It is impossible that happenings that come to him were not his choice. His power of decision is the determiner of every situation in which he seems to find himself by chance or accident. No accident nor chance is possible within the universe as God created it, outside of which is nothing. Suffer, and you decided sin was your goal. Be happy, and you gave the power of decision to Him Who must decide for God for you. This is the little gift you offer to the Holy Spirit, and even this He gives to you to give yourself. For by this gift is given you the power to release your savior, that he may give salvation unto you.

The idea that you can have a conceptual association of the entirety of yourself is nothing but a very fundamental admission that in a very literal sense anyone who is out there can actually offer you the entirety of the solution, are you listening? – because anyone who is out there is you. And it’s impossible that if he’s denying you, somewhere you are not determined to examine his denial, rather than simply accepting in its entirety his denial, since his denial of you is your denial of yourself.

Conceptually we’re going to look together at the possibility that the door of the reflection of your light identity of yourself is open at this time. Are you going to be reasonable? There is a great sentence in one of Master Teacher’s old ideas that you can reason to light; that every concept of choice that you’re making in regard to yourself can have an experience of more power within your own mind, very simply because the exercising of power, of Eternal Life, which is the single source of what everything is, you are already using in the idea of a dream sequence of time that has led you within a frame of time back to where you started.

Our Course In Miracles, the curriculum of the inevitability of self-inclusion, cannot choose for you the time that you decide to use it, but it can offer to you, on a continuing basis, that another choice within the framework of time is available to you, here and now, so that the prospects of continuing to search in objective associations of yourself will no longer attract you.

You have decided to accord to me a little mercy, in my determination as a teacher of God, to look at your conception of yourself and tell you that it has no meaning. Release your defenses of yourself in our ideas and we will teach to our new association of ourselves the certainty that we have empowered ourself to suffer everything that’s going on in this world, and in each moment that we release that defense we recognize each other.

Once again my thanks for you, for no longer projecting out from yourself the idea of my certainty of who you are. We are now going to share a single reality in our certainty that it comes God, from our source of the entirety of the universe of which we cannot not be a whole part. The joy that we’re experiencing in the conversion of the body form will always only be what we have looked for since the beginning and the end of time. So that what we are seeing together, right at this moment, is before it all began and after it’s all over; it is simply collapsed on itself in a moment of energy of love that we are now experiencing together.
